Dropshipping vs Print-on-Demand: Which Should You Start With?
Both dropshipping and print-on-demand let you launch with almost no inventory, but they solve different problems. Dropshipping is about finding winning physical products and shipping them from a third party; POD is about selling your designs on commodity products like tees and mugs.
Choose dropshipping if you enjoy product research and paid traffic. The upside is larger catalogs and higher margins on the right niches, but you're dependent on supplier quality and shipping speed you don't control.
Choose POD if you're design- or brand-led. Margins per sale are thinner and the market is crowded, but there's no supplier roulette — the print partner handles quality consistently.
A practical hybrid: many stores start with POD to learn the storefront and ad basics, then graduate to dropshipping once they can spot winning products. Either way, the store builder and review tools are the same.
