How to Get More Product Reviews (Without Begging Customers)

The best review requests feel like a natural next step, not a demand. Timing and incentive alignment matter more than wording.

Trigger one: delivery confirmation. Ask for a review 24–48 hours after the product arrives, not immediately after purchase. A customer who has received the item can actually evaluate it.

Trigger two: photo incentives. Loox and Judge.me reward reviewers with points or discounts for photo submissions. Visual reviews convert 30–50% better than text-only reviews, so the incentive pays for itself.

Trigger three: post-purchase email flows. Klaviyo and Omnisend can automatically send a review request after delivery, segmenting by product and order value. High-value customers get a personal follow-up; low-value customers get a standard template.

Trigger four: unboxing experience. Branded packaging from a reliable supplier makes customers want to share. If your supplier still ships in plain poly mailers, upgrading packaging can lift review volume as much as any app.

The compound effect: a store with 100 reviews per product converts noticeably better than one with 10. Start with Judge.me or Loox, automate the request timing, and iterate on the incentive. The DTCwise reviews directory tracks each app's current pricing and features.
